a bit about me...

“Turning life’s experiences into embodied wellness, resilience, and community.”
My Journey Into Wellness
My journey into wellness began at a young age, shaped by personal experiences of early trauma, a split family, eating disorders, close family illness, grief, loss, and three near-death experiences of my own.
These early exposures opened a lifelong curiosity into spirituality, natural and alternative practices, food as medicine, mindset, and the integration of holistic approaches into emotional and mental wellbeing.
Over the past two decades, my path has evolved into something deeply grounded and nature-based.
I became less interested in surface-level symptoms and more curious about what lives beneath them — the imbalances held in the body, the patterns inherited through generations, the subtle programming that shapes how we think, feel, and respond to life.
It has always fascinated me to explore the root cause of why we, as humans, behave the way we do.
Beyond the Mind
What I began to notice in my own healing was this:
The less pressure I placed on needing to understand what I was feeling, and the more I softened into simply feeling it, the more my body began to move naturally with the sensation.
Energy in motion.
E-motion.
Release began to happen without analysis.
Without labels.
Without diagnosis.
That is when I truly understood that we are not separate from energy — we are expressions of it.
When we soften rigid thought patterns, we create space.
And in that space, the body remembers how to release.
True wellness does not live on the surface.
It lives beneath the symptoms.
Beneath the stories.
Beneath the noise.
Life, Chaos & Expansion
Life is chaos — sometimes subtle, sometimes overwhelming.
No matter the experience, we are all blueprinted with a certain capacity to regulate and function through it.
During my awakening in the Australian outback, I learned that no matter how peaceful we try to make life, it is often within chaos that true expansion occurs.
Nature as Teacher
In my mid-twenties, I spent over three years deeply immersed in Australia’s natural landscapes, including extended periods living alone in nature and connecting with Indigenous culture.
From sunrises to sunsets in some of the most remote parts of this country, I discovered what I now call the natural prescription for healing — tools freely available to us all:
Breath.
Movement.
Rhythm.
Stillness.
Nature.
Presence.
This chapter coincided with profound transformation — grieving my older sister, navigating relationship endings and beginnings, and living through a serious injury accompanied by a life-altering medical prognosis.
Rather than accepting limitation, I became deeply curious about what was possible when the body, mind, and spirit are supported together.
The Body Holds What Words Cannot
Through lived experience and over 1,000 hours of training in yoga, nervous system regulation, somatic movement, and embodied practices, I came to understand something simple:
Words are not always enough.
Movement became my language — a way to express and release what could not be spoken.
I was especially drawn to ancient practices such as shaking medicine, a natural neural release used across cultures to recalibrate the nervous system.
No rules.
No performance.
Just breath, movement, sound, and presence.
Integration & Purpose
Now in my late 30s, as an independent mother and lifelong student of transformation, I see clearly how both painful and beautiful experiences can be alchemised into wisdom and purpose.
Gold Coast Yoga & Wellness was created as a grounded container for community — where real life meets real tools.
My mission is to open the porthole of wellness.
To create safe, accessible spaces for people to move, feel, and reconnect with themselves in ways that are sustainable and deeply human.
This work is not about perfection.
It is about remembering what we already carry within us.
